Supplementation
Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) is the preferred supplemental form — it's more effective than D2 at raising blood levels. Dosing depends on your baseline level and individual factors, but common therapeutic doses range from 2,000–5,000 IU daily.
Important: Vitamin D is fat-soluble and should be taken with a meal containing fat for optimal absorption. It works synergistically with vitamin K2 (which directs calcium to bones rather than arteries) — many practitioners recommend taking them together.
